Metro

Prague metro network is the backbone of public transport in Prague. It consists of three lines A, B and C, which operate daily between 05:00 and 24:00. Trains run every 2–4 minutes at peak times and 5–10 minutes at other times.
During night break an extensive network of night tram and bus lines replaces metro. Metro is independent from surface traffic ensuring its high reliability.
All metro lines are operated by Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy
Fare and the compulsory ticket area
All PID tickets for Prague (zones P, 0 or B) are good for riding the metro. Please note, that the ticket must be valid before entering the platform. The area where you need a valid ticket to enter (“compulsory ticket area”) starts usually in front of the main stairs/escalators to the platform and is marked by a white line on the floor. There are yellow stamping machines where you can stamp a paper ticket if it hasn’t been stamped before.
Accessibility
Some older metro stations are not wheelchair accessible yet. Check the current state of accessibility of metro stations.
Carriage of strollers and bicycles is permitted at no additional cost. Bicycles can board the first and last door of every train carriage, except for the very first doors at the beginning of the train, which are reserved for wheelchairs.
